Using Digital Images in Learning – Tech Talk Tuesday in review

The recent Tech Talk Tuesday webinar was unconference style where the  interests and experiences of participants determined the direction of the session. Following is some of the discussion:-

  • On brainstorming the considerations to be made when using images online, here are some of the points raised:- file size, image quality, ownership of image, source of image, copyright of image and attribution, do you need permission of people(eg at conferences) to put their images up online? – do the images add value to presentation or outcome, time to upload, file type etc
  • Sites for copyright free images: creative commons, shutterstock, morguefile, pics4learning, pixabay (but please always check for attributions), kozzi,
  • Consider images etc for mobile friendly. See this great post from the Edublogger
