Tech Talk Tuesdays Topic: – Numeracy and the iDevice – Let’s Get Real with Numbers
When: Tuesday, May 31st 4 to 5pm, Melbourne Australia time (gmt+10)

About this session Lets get real with number!  Using numbers with meaning to enhance numeracy via the iPod or ipad. There’s an app for almost all numeracy learning.  Plus there are real life apps that supply so much number information daily with meaning that we can take advantage of in our numeracy lessons.  Allowing students to express their Mathematical knowledge in their hands couldn’t be easier on the idevices.  Come and get some great examples that you can use in your numeracy classes. (Primary school focus but many work flows can be adapted for higher levels)

Digital Citizenship for Educators

When: Wednesday 1 June 20:00 Sydney time (gmt+10)

About the session:- Australia Series eT@lking event for Wednesday 1st June will unpack what it takes to be a responsible digital citizen in 21st century education. This session will be in interview style with questions posed for selected audience members to brainstorm a list of digital citizenship skills for educators.

The entire audience will form  ‘focus groups‘  to discuss the impact of responsible digital citizenship skills in education and lifelong learning. Each member of the audience will gain access to an online Dropbox designed to provide a suite of resources on Digital Citizenship. (Note: This requires your email address, so if you want to have access to the Dropbox please leave a comment below with your contact details. Or email CoachCarole.)

This event will also feature the use of breakout rooms in Elluminate Live to divide the audience into ‘focus groups’ with a leader and their own brainstorming whiteboard.

If you enjoyed last week’s eT@lking session on Google Gathering come back and share your ideas on the ‘impact of using Google tools’ and other Cloud Computing strategies (like Dropbox) responsibly.
